The South Dakota Safety Council in
partnership with the community of Yankton are offering “Winter
Driving Skills” class
February 18, 9:30-1:00 p.m.
Summit Activities Center
Cost: $20
Registration Form
available here
This class has been created for beginner
drivers. Driving in snow ice, wet and cold creates a challenge for the driver
and vehicle; this 3 1/2 hour classroom session will educate your teen on the
safety precautions, preventive measures, and tactics necessary for driving in
Winter conditions. After participants complete this class, a qualified adult
is encouraged to take the beginner to a parking lot (or other safe location)
to practice what they have learned in class. Remember, slow progression from
the parking lot onto low traffic, low speed streets is the safest way for
beginners to improve skills and put into practice what they have learned.

The first Community
Garden is
being cultivated by Healthy Yankton with a grant from the
Avera Health Community Service Fund.
The Community Garden is located along Yankton's West City Limits Road, on
City Parks land near the location of the former rodeo grounds.

More information can be obtained in the
Healthy
Yankton Community Garden 2011 Rules, and the
Healthy Yankton Community Garden Map.
If you are unable to attend the forum, you may call 605 668-8590 for
additional information.
The Community
Garden was made possible with cooperation from Healthy Yankton, the City of
Yankton, Dogs R Us 4-H Club, Santa Claus Lane Committee, Yankton Minimum Unit,
Mark's Machinery and the Master Gardeners.
